Mother's Day

Well Mother's Day has officially come and gone. Back when we got the original diagnosis I remember being fixated on the fact that my very first Mother's Day could come and go and I would have memories of a baby that was no longer here and that was incredibly sad. Fast fowarding to more recent times it was one of the first things I thought of once we saw how well Olivia tolerated surgery and the recovery process.  I just kept thinking and hoping that if she was strong enough and well enough that maybe we would be out of the hospital in time to celebrate the actual day at home.

Now I realize in the whole scheme of things, it's just another day.  But I also know that if Olivia hadn't made it through everything, yesterday would have really highlighted that loss.  Brian gave me the most incredible picture of Olivia in black and white and it is now one of my most prized possessions.  I definitely want to make it a point to try and get such a picture for each of our future babies to make a little gallery in our house.  Either way, yesterday was fantastic and very memorable for me.

I hope all that read this had a very Happy Mother's Day as well whether you're an Aunt, Godmother, Step-Mother etc, you all have an important role in someone's life.
