Risky Business

Did any of you heart parents see this article yesterday?  I had no idea!  Such a great antibiotic to treat the common case of strep, ear infection or sinus infection and it's definitely something that going forward we'll have to steer clear of for Miss Olivia.

It just so happened that I was reading it while Liv was checking out the exam room at her cardiac clinic appointment.  Yesterday's appointment was so easy and relaxing that it was almost like I took a half day from work to be with the Livster.  We had such a good time together, the sun was shining and best of all - we got nothing but great news.  Olivia really interacted with the staff nicely and there wasn't a tear shed the whole afternoon by either one of us.

  • BNP - almost to levels that are untraceable
  • Potassium - nice level
  • Creatin - healthy, no stressed kidneys
  • CBC - beautiful
  • Magnesium - 1.5 (still needs some work, but totally fine)
  • Height - 37"
  • Weight - 29.6lbs
  • BP - 102/55
  • Echo - Beautiful Function
The nighttime dose of Prednisone is gone now and we're also making a change to her Hecoria (also known as Tacrolimus) which is the most important medicine of the whole transplant regimen.  Her level was actually a little high and we're just dialing that back slightly.  After the appointment Livvy said that we needed to go get dinner from Noodles and Company - so we did.  Who am I to deny such a request?  Little GF was starving because she packed away an entire Pesto Cavatappi.  Clearly she is not counting her calories...it could be because her parents pack her up in snowsuits and make her go shovel the driveway that she needs some extra energy!
